All Blocked Up -redux- by ThePpeGFX All Blocked Up -redux- by ThePpeGFX
With most artwork, you can never say when you're done, but these caps are art in their own right and they are complete when they no longer function.

None of these caps have been intentionally sprayed or fiddled with to make them look the way they are. I keep all the blocked caps I have and this is a photo series of the more interesting ones.

Be sure to zoom in!

Very neat idea! Definitely shows that you have an artist's eye. So, was it like a moment of brilliance, when you saw all these caps lying around and saw a potential art piece in themselves?

Hah, it wasn't 'eureka' or anything like that; I photograph a lot of things, so this only felt natural.

Ah, okay. I asked because I often have these eureka moments. I jot the idea down quickly, as to not let it slip my mind. By the way, appreciate the fave on 'Barack.' I take it as a double compliment, since you're such an established spray paint artist.

Nah, I know what you mean: I have a sketchbook beside my pen with a pen. I'm a,ll for a good idea but I'm not going to get out of the comfort of my bed to write an idea down. I'd often get great ideas but I couldn't remember them in the morning...

This would make such a cool poster! The colour combinations are all so interesting, it reminds me of how cool the plates I use to hold paint look after I'm done with them. (Unfortunately, they usually look better than the paintings, haha.)

Haha yes, sometimes the implements and left overs of working on art can be more interesting than the final piece...unfortunately :P

haha this is brilliant!

i just finished my own graffiti(sadly no pics yet :( ) and i cant still smell the spray lingering on my clothes :)

i probaply messed up about 16 caps but i never thought of looking at the little art pieces on them(most where just blobs of paint XD )

anyway... this would make an AWESOME poster :D

I guess the caps look nicer when they're left to dry, or wiped, or used with lots of colours.

And aye, the smell lingers because you have dust-like particles on you from the spray paint...

Some things just get passed up for crap, but I'm glad there are people who realise when something looks pretty damn cool in itself :D

The photographs themselves are actually pretty slick - the light gives just the right amount of definition and shine, and the colours really pop. Awesome piece (:

The setup of all the shots was tricky but very much worth it; I used a silly amount of tripods for all manner of purposes.

:D It worked. Perfect angles.

(God, I could use a tripod..a gorillapod. Damn those things are cool ^^;)

YES anyway - worth it indeed. It's kind of a storytelling piece without being so in your face about it, which is cool (:

It's interesting because actually, the photos are more interesting than the caps in reality. I would love to shoot and print these out at like a metre by a metre, haha.
