'Exploding Cans' Series by ThePpeGFX 'Exploding Cans' Series by ThePpeGFX
Like a bullet or bomb, paint will leave its own mark.

Spray paint means a lot of different things from artist to artist. To me, a can represents this bristling container of pressured potential, which can be used impulsively as much as it can be used considerately.

Unlike my previous 'can' pieces, this was less about quantity and more about the detail I could push out at this scale, needing to use over 70 stencils across the series to build the scenes up.

15cm by 15cm by 4cm Triptych - Stencil - Stretched Canvas - Edition of 4 - Signed and numbered

Available to purchase for 120, including worldwide postage at www.pahnl.co.uk/store.php

The central canvas of that triptych involved 16 layers, hah!

...makes me glad I didn't opt for another 'five can' edition.

Cheers, I didn't want them appearing too lopsided, although in reality they probably would've landed nothing like that.

I'm a sucker for CMYK, so the last one is really calling out to me.

If only I had some €€€

This is awesome! Did you use stencils for the splashes of paint, too?
Also, in case you want to use that quote: "Like a bullet or bomb, paint will leave it's own mark." to advertise this, or in a gallery, that should be "its own mark."

Bah, I could've sworn the apostrophe meant possession, must've got it mixed up at some point. Cheers for keeping me in check there, I'm a sucker for good grammar.

As for the pieces themselves, everything, bar the background, has been stenciled. It offers a degree of control you don't get with hand made splats. Besides that, these 'explosions' are relatively small :D

"Its" sort of throws things off, because it's His/Her/Its. It's a pronoun, so the "apostrophe 's'" rule doesn't apply.
